Fight for social justice on an SEIU Committee

Join a committee and help improve the lives of SEIU members and working people across Ontario by helping organize new workers, lobby politicians at Queen’s Park, improve health and safety conditions in SEIU’s industry sectors, and many other important activities.

Health & Safety Committee
The Health & Safety Committee helps guide campaigns related to health and safety in our workplaces. The Committee supports SEIU’s advocacy campaigns.

Human Rights Committee
The Human Rights Committee monitors human rights abuses in our communities and generates human rights campaigns for our union. Issues include diversity, discrimination, whether based on racial, gender, or sexuality, among other important social topics.

Organizing Committee
Take part in Organizing drives, provide strategic advice in campaigns and participate in Member Organizer training events.

Political Action Committee
This Committee helps elect progressive MPs and MPPs who will stand up for SEIU and working people everywhere. They are called upon to participate in political campaigns, on election teams, and assist with government advocacy campaigns. Their hard work changes legislation to help improve living standards for working people.

Provincial Paramedics Committee
This committee works on issues such as improving health and safety conditions on the job, retirement benefits, and parity with other first responders.

Retirees’ Committee
The Retirees Committee works tirelessly to fight for the rights of retired people to ensure they enjoy a good standard of living. They also work with government officials to create laws that support the health and welfare needs of retired people.

Womens’ Committee
Committed to improving the working, social and economic lives of women through education, lobbying for change and growing participation in our union. For more information, visit the Women’s Committee page. 

Youth Committee
Focuses on youth issues, whether social or professional, that raise youth’s awareness of the labour movement and encourages political activism.
