SEIU Local 1 Canada is making it easier for students to attend college or university. SEIU has awarded academic scholarships to four high-achieving students whose family are SEIU members. The winners are:
Patrick Fowler. His mother is Mary Jo Urquhart and she works at Hotel Dieu Shaver Health, a hospital in St. Catharines, which is a part of the Niagara Health System.
Filzah Filzah. Her mother is a Red Cross home care worker in Oakville.
Faith Green. Her mother works for Extendicare, a nursing home located in Cobourg.
Michael Schick. His mother, Rose Anne Schick, is employed by the Quinte Healthcare Centre, a hospital in Belleville.
