100% of the employees at Centennial Retirement (Revera) chose SEIU at a union certification vote held on December 2, 2010. The Local welcomes over 25 new members into the union.
“Managers need to learn how to treat their staff with more dignity and respect,” said Bastian Williams, the organizing lead for the campaign. “Employees are colleagues, not servants.”
Once the new unit forms a bargaining committee to negotiate a new collective agreement, the committee will focus on wages, benefits and hiring more staff - especially for the night shift.
