Fifteen workers at a Villa Care Centre in Midland voted to join SEIU Local 1 Canada on July 15, 2008.

“SEIU continues to be the union of choice for staff at nursing homes across Ontario,” said Leanne Bradshaw-Collett, Lead Organizer for the drive. “Our union won’t rest until every nursing home worker in Ontario is a member of a union. All nursing home workers deserve the protections SEIU can offer.”

SEIU Local 1 Canada is an Organizing Union that represents more than 46,000 health care and community services workers in Ontario. Its members work in hospitals, home care, nursing and retirement homes and community services.
