Over 70 percent of the employees at Caledon Community Services voted to certify SEIU Local 1 Canada as their bargaining agent on September 11, 2009. All 44 new members are personal support workers (PSWs).

“It’s time for management to start treating their staff with the dignity and respect they deserve,” said Bastian Williams, the lead organizer for the campaign.

SEIU Local 1 Canada is an Organizing Union that represents more than 46,000 health care and community services workers in Ontario. Its members work in hospitals, home care, nursing and retirement homes and community services.
